Course Eléments Physique des Composants Electroniques
Elements of Physics of Electronic Components (English)
* This course is an introduction to semiconductor physics. It aims to enable students to understand the operating principles of basic electronic components such as diodes and transistors. The course content aligns with the official program approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Chapter 1. Basic Concepts
This chapter covers the properties of semiconductors in thermodynamic equilibrium, focusing on the physics of carrier generation and recombination. The first section examines intrinsic semiconductors, emphasizing pure crystal structures and the balance of electrons and holes. The second section addresses extrinsic semiconductors, detailing the effects of donor and acceptor doping on n-type and p-type material behavior.
Chapter 2. Semiconductors at Thermodynamic Equilibrium
Chapter 3. Semiconductors out of Thermodynamic Equilibrium
This chapter examines how external excitations disturb carrier balance across two parts. The first covers charge transport via drift and diffusion, while the second analyzes the generation and recombination processes that govern carrier lifetimes and the return to thermodynamic equilibrium.
