
Power Electronics refers to an interdisciplinary subject within electrical engineering that deals with the design, control and conversion of power in its electric form. A system that converts electric energy to an electric load through a control circuit is known as a Power Electronic System.
Course objectives:
This course is intended for third year students License: electronics, specialty: electronics. It has the following objectives:
Know the basic principles of power electronics, know the principle of operation and the use of power components, master the operation of the main static converters, acquire basic knowledge for a technical choice according to the field of application of a power converter.
Recommended prerequisites:
- Fundamental electronics.
- Fundamental electrical engineering.
